El pasado día 15 de Octubre el Arzobispo Rowan Williams hizo público a través de la BBC una revolucionaria medida anticrisis consistente en abrir las puertas de la iglesia debido, en parte, a la caída del número de sacerdotes que se ordenaron este año. Declaraciones del Arzobispo ingles aseguraban “la iglesia no podía cerrar sus puertas a sus feligreses viendo los problemas que sufren, especialmente desde que en 2008 vemos como día a día aumenta el número de personas que pierden su trabajo, sus ahorros e incluso sus casas, la iglesia tenía que hacer mucho más de lo que ya hacemos y esta medida solucionará la vida a muchas familias”. En declaraciones posteriores comentó que la publicidad se haría en carteles del metro y en los posavasos de los pubs, debido a lo concurrido de estos lugares, además de los medios convencionales.

Algunos de los indignados a los que preguntamos  declararon: “ Después de la devaluación y la inflación nada más virtuoso que suplir la necesidad de clero en la diócesis inglesa. Supongo que con el First Certificate y un poco de práctica alcanzará para confesar (total nadie se confiesa) y para predicar - como en cualquier idioma es lo mismo porque nadie entiende nada- no hay problemas.”

“Lástima que ya no me van a aceptar por razones de carga de familia. Me parece difícil conseguir una nulidad matrimonial ahora, después de 17 años de casado y con 7 hijos. Aunque, nunca se sabe. Es cuestión de tener un amigo en el Tribunal…” (Joaquín)

Te aseguran casa y buen sueldo en libras esterlinas, vacaciones pagadas y, como hay muchas vacantes, se podrá elegir destino. Lo cierto es que la oferta es tentadora. Sobre todo porque, si ponen los avisos en los posavasos de los pubs, significa que no habrá restricciones etílicas.

Fencing is a group effort. You are split into pairs when you are in a fight. There are different types of swords that are used Epee, Foil and the Sabre. My personal favorite is the foil. The point of fencing is to try and receive another point from the other person, you do this by either making a quick jab or slashes (when you use Sabre). The outfits that are worn are normally at the color of white. In the olden days they used a cotton ball dipped in ink and attatched to the end of the sword to keep track of the score. Here are some basic rules for fencing "Never wave swords about not point a weapon at someone who is not wearing a mask. When holding a sword, keep the point down towards the floor. Do not run while holding a weapon by the handle. Always hold it by the point when walking or running. If you need two hands to don your mask put your foil down first. Make sure that your foil has a covering over the point and that the weapon is not broken or badly bent near the tip." 

This sport can be good for a variety of things. I would have to thingk that it helps mostly with balance, flexibility, strength and has some components of being aerobic.

The picture shown above are the swords and the places that you can hit with them. The picture to the top right is a picture of one of the advanced moves that is normally for the epee and the foil. The bottom middle is showing a lunge and a perrie six.

There are things that you do that can help you to become disqualified. Such as if you step out of your box or you hit a part of the body that you werent supposed to.

This is a great sport that can be learned at any point in someones life. It is very active and you do learn to play with a team. Battles are what ever you make them. This is an amazing sport great for anyone ready to try.

Reaching for the Sky

It's easy to get caught up in the idea that having "more" reflects success and will bring happiness, and it seems many  spend all their lives in the pusuit of "more". Don't get me wrong, I don't want to live like a pauper - BUT maybe the answer lies in the act of "Reaching" as in doing so you challenge yourself, stretch your abilities and there is a sense of great achievement when you touch the sky, no matter how briefly?
